Do you Need Cataract Surgery?

What is Cataract?

Cataract is clouding of the natural human lens within the eye.  It most commonly affects older people.  The cataract usually progresses slowly, but it can lead to loss of vision if it is not treated.  The condition usually affects both eyes, and almost always one of the eyes is affected more than the other.  The main reason for cataracts is UV light.  After 60, most of us will have some degree of lens clouding, if it affects vision, surgery might be required.  Age-related cataracts is the most common cause of blindness in the world.
